Can you pressure wash in the rain?
Absolutely, we do get asked this a lot but it actually makes our work easier as it loosens dirt for us and can help rinse it away.

Can you wash my house if I am on a well?
We can either supply our own water or we can use our water tank as a float so we don't need to worry about low tap pressure.

Do you have insurance?
Yes, in order to do the work we do, this is a must. We also please ask that if you are asking others to quote on your job, to ask for proof of insurance. We will provide this for you as well as a letter of standing with Work Safe BC.

What is a downspout trap?
A downspout trap is installed on the downspout from your gutters a few feet above the ground. We remove the screen or guard where the water enters the downspout so everything flows to the trap. Dirt and debris are then screened out and the water continues to flow down the pipe. Because this is only a few feet off the ground it is easy to check and empty the trap saving you the trouble of having to go onto the roof.

Which is better, power washing or hand washing?
At Custom Power Wash we use both methods and usually at the same time. Depending on the surface, pressure that is too high can cause damage. In this case we lower the pressure and add some elbow grease to get the surface clean. We also aid the process with our environmentally friendly detergents. At our clients request we can clean entirely by hand or offer the best washing solution.

When should I pressure wash?
House cleaning is usually done every two years. Depending on your area and whether there are large trees or lots of shade this can vary quite a lot. We will keep track of when you have had work done and recommend when it should be done again based on your circumstances. We then call before the work should be done again to let you know.

How often should I clean my gutters?
This depends greatly on what's around your house or building. Lots of trees means more frequently. Normally gutter cleaning is done once a year in the fall before the big rains come. If you are constantly plauged by plugged downspouts we have many solutions to ease the maintenance. From gutter guard to downspout traps and other gutter aides we can have your gutter system working as efficiently as possible for you.

Should I seal my driveway or sidewalks?
Concrete and asphalt sealers will save you money in the long run. By protecting the surface and closing the porous surface so it doesn't soak oup liquids you don't need to clean as often and when cleaning is needed it is much easier to do. Sealing also prolongs the life and finish of both conrete and especially asphalt and also prevents oil and gas spills from penetrating and staining. Our concrete glaze is provides a great "wet" look finish for exposed aggregate and stamped concrete. A good way to highlite these expensive and good-looking finishes.

What is a sidewalk cleaning machine?
These are called flat surface cleaners and they allow us to do large flat areas quickly and perfectly every time. The machine has pressure tips on a rotating wand that is always the same distance from the ground providing the same clean every time.

Do you have hot water?
Yes, we have boilers that can heat our pressure washer water to near boiling. Great for degreasing heavy equipment or removing organic growth without the use of detergents.

Do you use environmentally safe detergents?
Yes, we have a variety of detergents for different surfaces and applications. These have come a long way over the past few years and the green detergents are able to do the job just as well as some of the harsher variants.

What happens if my plants or lawn furniture get dirty from the washing?
At Custom Power Wash we always go the extra mile. Finishing touches and attention to detail are what keeps customers coming back to us. At the end of each job we go around the area with a low soft spray to rinse any plants or furniture and so on.

Can you fix my leaking gutters or downspouts?
We can remove and replace old caulking in the corners and joints of your gutters. We do all general repairs to your gutter system. We also install gutter guard and downspout traps. When on site if our workers notice a problem with your gutters they will let you know and recommend what can be done to repair them.

Do you wash the insides of windows as well as outside?
Yes, we do wash interior windows as well as skylites and hi-reach windows. We also do construction cleans on windows, cleaning the glue, stickers, paint, etc. from the glass and clean the channels and window frame.

Can you wash my window screens?
We always remove the screens to wash the windows and if requested we will also wash both sides of the screens to remove bugs, dust, dirt and other debris.

What is a Tucker Pole?
A Tucker Pole is a water fed window washing pole. Our poles extend up to 55 feet enabling us to efficiently clean the exterior glass up to five stories high standing on the ground.

I'm selling my home, should I clean it first?
Absolutely. For the cost of cleaning compared to how much this could improve the selling price it is always a good idea to clean first. We can recommend what you should clean for the best improvement and look for your house and it's always nice to hand over a well maintained and clean property to the new owner.
