Quote Checklist
One of the most important things to do when getting multiple quotes or even just a single quote is to make sure everyone is on the same page. You want to compare apples to apples 
to make sure you're getting the the most accurate information possible and to avoid surprises once the job has started. You want everybody estimating the same thing so their prices can be accurately compared.
When asking for a quote or estimate from a company to do work for you there are a few key points to have them provide for you.

Make sure the contractor has liability insurance and what amount it is. |

Check their WorkSafe BC (formerly WCB) standing. Access the website here |

Be very specific what work you want done, ie - wash the patio but not the railings. You want to make sure the prices you are getting include all the work you want done. If it isn't specified will the contractor know it is supposed to be included? |

Have the contractor break down the prices into different line items. One price for doing gutters, one price for washing siding, another for washing the sidewalks, etc. |
This checklist is not branded with our name so you can use it for any contractor you are asking to do any work on your site. A printer friendly version is available. We recommend whether you use this checklist or something similar that you have all contractors use the same form. This just insures that everybody is quoting the same thing keeping it fare for everybody and no surprises down the road.
